Personal Injury Calculator

A personal injury calculator attempts to work out the amount of money a person should receive to compensate them for the injury they have suffered. Consider, for example, a person who trips on an uneven paving slab and breaks their leg. The personal injury calculator will consider how much time the person has to have off work and how much money they earn.

It will also consider any medical bills the claimant has as a result of the break, any aids the claimant needs, such as a walking stick or crutches and try to work out how much money the claimant has lost as a result of the break and how much the claimant will lose in the future. The personal injury calculator will then take into account the pain and suffering the claimant has endured and will try to give this a monetary value.

Usually your person injury advisor will do the calculations to work out how much money you might receive if you went to court, although this is not an exact science. The personal injury advisor will then use this figure as a starting point for negotiations with the other side. It is usually beneficial for both sides if it is possible to agree a figure for compensation without going to court.
