Legal Content Writer position

 

Caven is a fast-growing company acting as a broker/agent for law firms, attracting clients through the internet and other methods. The company runs several websites, including caven.org.uk and findlaw.co.uk, and requires a legal content writer to fulfil its traffic and content needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recently qualified law student or an experienced copywriter with a legal background to contract work for a young company supported by Thomson Reuters.
 

The role:

  • Writing a variety of types of legal articles, both for the websites and for external sites, including general legal information, blogs, areas-of-law guides and content for specific situations
  • Conforming to particular guidelines relating to style, tone, word count, keywords etc
  • Committing to a minimum number of articles per week – minimum ten, max 40 (40 would count as full-time writing)
  • Working from home on a weekly contract basis

The required candidate will:

  • Have a legal background, or be able to draw on legal experience/research
  • Be up to date with current news and the legal world and have the ability to write about current issues
  • Have excellent writing skills with the ability to switch style and conform to guidelines
  • Have a high standard of English
  • Take pride in their work, and take responsibility for the quality of their writing
