Bicycle accidents


Cyclists are required to observe the Highway Code and other road rules just as are ordinary road users. Unfortunately, cyclists are vulnerable road users; according to the Department for Transport, in 2008 the number of cyclists involved in casualties in the UK was 16,297.

If you are a cyclist who was injured through the negligent actions of another road user, you may be able to claim compensation for your injury and/or the damage to your bicycle and equipment.

Similarly, in certain circumstances it may be possible for you to make a claim against the local authority or Highways Authority if the accident was caused by poorly maintained roads or other hazards.
